BitAddress.INFO is a scam site that will steal your bitcoins.

Mon, 01/15/2018 - 21:56

I came across BitAddress.info by accident. It looks exactly like BitAddress.org (the legit site). But if you open your dev tools and go to the network tab when you visit it, you'll discover that it logs your private key that you generate with it to a script "log.php".

So, BitAddress.info is a scam that will steal your private keys! Beware!

Please help report it:

(Let me know if there is anywhere else we should report this kind of phishing site.)

Found an old wallet... :DDDDD

Mon, 01/15/2018 - 20:34

So I needed to purchase a software license and the vendor only accepted Bitcoin. I remembered that I had an old wallet that might contain some unused Bitcoin. I googled "popular bitcoin wallets in 2013" and recognized one of the results. I was able to verify an old wallet, but I couldn't find or remember the password. I was able to lookup the wallet, and saw there was just over 1.25 Bitcoin in the wallet... INFURIATING!!!! After searching through several old hard drives, cloud drives, email accounts, and stacks of old papers, I had decided that the only way I would be able to recover these Bitcoins was to somehow remember the password. Well, after a few days, I did!!!! I was rewarded with ~$20k of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash (Whatever that is)..... TLDR: If you have ever used Bitcoin in the past, check your old wallets!!!!!!!

We do not yet realize how fundamentally disruptive, and beautiful, Lightning will be.

Mon, 01/15/2018 - 12:00

After using Lightning on testnet for several days, I am amazed at how much better it is than all existing point of sale process.

Since using Lightning, every normal real-world transaction I have done has felt slow, cumbersome, unsatisfying. I missed Lightning after the first day of using it on testnet.

There has never been a point of sale process as quick. And to also be free of banks and third parties, have privacy and total ownership and control of my funds...Lightning is world-changing. Adoption is going to be insane.
